TEHRAN (FNA)- Iran's Ambassador to the United Nations Mohammad Khazaee announced that Tehran is ready to continue talks with the Group 5+1 (the five permanent UN Security Council members plus Germany).
Speaking in Non-Aligned Movement meeting in New York, Khazaee said that Iran will continue the talks based on package of proposals presented by Tehran in September.
The latest package of proposals which was presented by Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki to the ambassadors and representatives of the six major powers is an all-embracing package offering cooperation between Iran and the West on solutions to a wide variety of global issues.
The Iranian ambassador further stressed that Iran is abiding by international commitments and added that it will not yield to political and economic pressures imposed by the West.
"Islamic Republic of Iran is still abiding by international rules and commitments and it will not yield to economic and political pressures and threats," Khazaee noted.
The meeting which concentrated on Iran's nuclear issue was led by Egyptian ambassador to the UN.
Envoys from Cuba, Venezuela, Syria, Egypt and Nigeria stressed Iran's right to get access to peaceful nuclear energy as other members of Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).
