During the 2010 AFC Champions League draw held at the AFC House in Kuala Lumpur, it was revealed that Esteqlal, Iran's reigning champions, should play with Qatar's Al Gharafa, the UAE's Al Jazira and Saudi Arabia's Al Ahli in Group A.
Also Zobe Ahan of Isfahan was thrown into what is called the West Asia's 'Group of Death' (Group B) with Saudi Arabia's Al Ittihad, Uzbekistan's Bunyodkor the West play-off winners.
The Group C will see the matches among the United Arab Emirates' Al Ain, Saudi Arabia's Al Shabab and Uzbek giants Pakhtakor.
Meantime, the UAE's Al Ahli, Qatari's Al Sadd and Saudi Arabia's Al Hilal will face Mes of Kerman in the Group D.
