Lebanese Envoy Hails Iran's Role in Settling Regional Problems

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iran contributes an important role in solving problems of the region, Lebanese Ambassador to Tehran Zain al-Mousavi said on Monday.

"The Islamic Republic of Iran has a very important role in settling the problems of the region and all countries recognize this fact," al-Mousavi told FNA.

Referring to Iran's role in Lebanon's developments, he reiterated that Iran's aids and assistance have put Hezbollah and resistance in Lebanon in a superior and important position.

Al-Mousavi stressed that Iran had a great role in Lebanon's victory in 2000 which led to the return of major parts of its territory and also the 33-day war in 2006 in which Israel was defeated by Hezbollah.

"I think if Israel makes a new aggression against Lebanon, the Islamic Republic of Iran will not remain neutral," he added.

Al-Mousavi also announced that Lebanese Prime Minister Sa'ad Hariri is due to pay a visit to Tehran in the near future.
