Official Urges Cultural Cooperation with Egypt

TEHRAN (FNA)- Head of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Hamid Baqaei called for cultural cooperation and relations between Tehran and Cairo.



In a meeting with the head of Egypt interest section in Tehran, Baqaei underlined that Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has positive view towards cultural cooperation between the two countries.

Referring to discovery of Persian ancient artifacts in Egypt, the president's aide said, ''This issue could lead to cultural relations in archeological fields and restoring historical monuments.''

''The issue can be a new chapter in cultural relations between two countries and by support of President Ahmadinejad is a good potential for benefits of two countries," the Iranian labors news agency quoted Baqaei as saying.

Baqaei noted Presidential letter to Egypt cultural heritage minister to endorse archeological excavations by specialists from two countries.
