Bahraini PM Underlines Iran's Role in Regional Security, Stability

TEHRAN (FNA)- Bahraini Prime Minister Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa stressed Iran's role in the reinvigoration of security and stability in the region.

Speaking in a meeting with Bahraini Parliament Speaker Khalifa Bin Ahmad al-Dhahrani who returned from a five-day visit to Tehran last week, Al-Khalifa also welcomed any efforts to reinvigorate friendship between the two neighboring countries.

He also pointed to the positive results of the visit to Iran by the Bahraini officials, and added, "Bahrain's official delegations have always been welcomed warmly and intimately by the Iranian officials in their visits to the Islamic Republic of Iran, which shows mutual respect and interest (of the Iranian side)."

Al-Dhahrani heading a 12-member delegation of Bahraini parliamentarians, including his deputy and head of Iran-Bahrain's parliamentary friendship group, visited Iran last week.

During his stay in Tehran, he held talks with his Iranian counterpart Ali Larijani, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Iran's Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Sadeq Amoli Larijani, Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki and Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Saeed Jalili.

In his meetings with the Iranian officials, the Bahraini speaker discussed bilateral ties and exchange views over regional and international issues.
