Gregory C. Lisby is a professor at Georgia State University, where he teaches communication law and communication policy, as well as communication ethics.

Lisby, who holds a doctorate, is also licensed to practice law in the state of Georgia. His practice areas include First Amendment law, education law, and intellectual-property law.

The results of his 15-year study of criminal libel were published in the fall 2004 issue of Communication Law & Policy.
