Iranian Club Wins AFC Futsal Clubs Championship

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iran's Mahan won the title in the first Asian Futsal Clubs Championship after a crushing 5-2 victory against Al-Sad of Qatar in the final match in Iran's central province of Isfahan Friday night.



The hosts defeated al-Sad 5-2 at Isfahan's fully-packed Pirouzi Stadium on Friday evening.

Mahan's 33-year-old captain, Vahid Shamsayee, opened the scoring only two minutes into the match. Mohammad Taheri netted the second ball minutes later.

The Qatari side managed to score their first goal with only seven minutes to go in the first half.

The guests were able to score the equalizer two minutes into the second.

The contest was locked at 2-2 on minutes to the end when Captain Shamsayee passed the ball to his right to Javad Asqari who could easily hit the third goal for Iran.

The hosts put themselves further ahead of the Qataris when Asqari scored a quick goal. Finally, Shamsayee scored the fifth goal for the Champions.
