Iranian Boxers Overcome Rivals in Asian Youth Championship

TEHRAN (FNA)- Young Iranian boxing athletes defeated their Singaporean and Turkmen rivals in rough contests at the 4th Asian Youth Boxing Championship here in Tehran.



Iranian boxers managed to beat their rivals in the -48kg, -69 kg and -75 kg categories in Tehran's Shahid Afrasiabi Sports Hall on Thursday.

Iran's Masoud Rigi overpowered his rival from Singapore 6-0 in the -48 kg category, and Mostafa Khemrnia trounced Singaporean rival 10-3 in the -69 kg category, while Dariush Hosseini beat Turkmen rival 6-4 in the -75 kg category of the competitions.

Meanwhile, Iran's Mohammad Bakhtiari lost the game to his Chinese rival 7-9 in the -60kg category and Bijan Khojaste failed the contest with Indian boxer in the -81kg category.

20 boxing contests were held on the second day of the Asian Boxing Championship competitions and China, the Philippines, Uzbekistan, Japan, Kazakhstan and Thailand managed to overcome their rivals in the -48 kg category.
