With one gold, one silver and two bronze medals, received by Iranian free-style and Greco-Roman wrestlers in the contests on Sunday, total number of medals pocketed by the Iranian athletes since the beginning rose to 11.
The composition of medals won for Iran in the free-style and Greco-Roman categories on Sunday are as follows: one silver and two bronze medals in the free and one gold medal in the Greco-Roman styles.
On the first day of the competitions on Saturday, March 20, the Iranians had bagged seven medals in all.
On the whole the tally of medals received by the free-style wrestlers is seven - three gold, two silver and two bronze medals - while total number of medals gained by the Greco-Roman wrestlers stands at four: one gold, two silver and one bronze medals.
The Iranian gold medalists were Abdullah Fouladvand (50kg FS), Mehran Nasiri (60kg FS), Morteza Rezaie Qale (74kg FS) and Parsa Nazari (120kg GR). The silver medalists too were Mohammad-Mehdi Jaafari Yeganeh (66kg FS), Mohsen Kazemi (96kg FS), Amir Kaab Omeir (50kg GR), Kamal Mohammad Alizadeh (74kg GR), with the bronze medal winners being Mohammad Yousefi (66kg FS), Amir Mohammadi (84kg FS) and Mojtaba Mamizadeh (96kg GR).
Iranian wrestlers failed to receive any medal or title in the 55kg FS, 120kg FS, 55kg GR, 66kg GR, and 84kg GR categories on both days of the competitions.
Twelve young free-style and nine young Greco-Roman wrestlers as well as five junior wrestlers represented Iran in the contests (March 20-21).
