"In 2008, Iran and Turkey signed an agreement in the field of tourism, and during this visit we will review initiatives for a better implementation of the agreement," Gunay said after meeting with Head of Iran's Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization Hamid Baqaei on Saturday.
Gunay also said that Iran and Turkey have common religious, historical and cultural heritage that provide both countries with huge potentials to further strengthen their ties in different fields, including tourism.
He expressed Turkey's readiness to share its experience in the tourism sphere with Iran.
Turkey ranks seventh in the list of top ten countries that attract the highest number of tourists in the world, he added.
Last year, 27 million tourists visited Turkey among whom about one million were Iranians.
