David C. Vladeck is an associate professor at Georgetown University Law Center and spent almost 30 years with Public Citizen Litigation Group, including 10 years as director, specializing in First Amendment and open-government litigation.
He has co-directed the Georgetown Law Center’s Institute for Public Representation and is currently director of the Bureau of Consumer Protection with the Federal Trade Commission.
Vladeck has argued a number of cases before the United States Supreme Court, and more than 40 cases before the federal courts of appeal. He also testifies before Congress and writes on administrative law and First Amendment issues.
He published an essay (co-authored with Alan Morrison) on executive power that appeared in The Rehnquist Court (Hill & Wang, 2002), edited by Herman Schwartz.
