Iranian FM Blasts Powers for Sparking Problems in Balkan Region

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki in a meeting with Serbian Ambassador to Tehran Alexander Tasich lashed out at certain world powers for their attempts to create problems in the Balkan Peninsula.

"Unfortunately, certain powers are still after creating problems in the Balkan region," Mottaki said, stressing that interference of foreign powers is the main source of problems in the region.

He also welcomed establishment of stability and tranquility in the Balkans, and reiterated, "We support expansion of cooperation and convergence among the regional countries."

Elsewhere, Mottaki referred to the framework of mutual cooperation between Iran and Serbia, and said the two countries can launch good cooperation in all fields based on the same framework.

During the meeting, Tasich described Iran as an important country in the Middle-East and Asia, and said that the required grounds are prepared for the expansion of cooperation between the two countries.
