TEHRAN (FNA)- Saudi Arabia's Al Ittihad football team were overpowered 1-0 by Iran's Zob Ahan in the AFC Champions League.
Iranian international Mohammad Reza Khalatbari pounced on a defensive error just before the hour mark at Foulad Shahr Stadium in the Iranian city of Isfahan on Wednesday.
The victory helped Zob Ahan secure top spot in Group B with 13 points and host Iran's Mes in the last 16 of the AFC Champions League.
In another Group B match same day, Bunyodkor achieved a 4-1 victory against the bottom-placed Al Wahda of the UAE to cement its second place for the Uzbeks with 10 points.
Another Iranian soccer team Esteqlal lost 2-1 to Al Jazira at the Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium to finish second in Group A with 11 points to meet Al-Shabab in the AFC Champions League knockout stage.
Esteqlal took the lead through skipper Farhad Majidi in the 38th minute but Saleh Bashir scored the equalizer six minutes into the second half before Tariq Ahmed sealed the victory three minutes later.
Qatar league champions Al Gharafa is to face Pakhtakor in the next round after it defeated Al-Ahli 1-0 to lead Group A.
