Iran's sixth edition of the Persian Gulf Conference will also discuss social, historical, economic, political, geographical and environmental aspects of the Persian Gulf region.
Some 521 articles have been submitted to the event, the majority of which are on tourism, conference director Manouchehr Jahanian told cultural heritage news agency.
The conference will also present researches and studies conducted on the Persian Gulf title, providing documents on its Persian origin.
"The 7,000-year-old region has given rise to many great civilizations and is an example of interaction between governments and their people," Jahanian said.
He emphasized the important role of tourism in the region, and stated, "Supporting the infrastructures in the Persian Gulf region can boost cultural and tourism relations between Iran and the rest of the world."
Iran designated April 30 as the National Persian Gulf Day to highlight the fact that the waterway has been referred to by historians and ancient texts as 'Persian' since the Achaemenid Empire was established in what is now modern day Iran.
