For Journalists

How we can assist you

The Stanford News Service offers assistance to print, broadcast and online media. Our staff can connect reporters with faculty experts, assist news crews with shooting on campus, arrange video and radio feeds, or help members of the media locate archived photos, news stories and press releases.

News Releases

Visit our Stanford News site and browse recent Stanford news releases, or search the news release and general news archive, dating from 1991 to the present. To subscribe to Stanford's news releases, email news-service@lists.stanford.edu or phone (650) 723-2558.

Find an Expert

Members of the news media can contact News Service representatives for assistance in finding experts who will comment on news stories. Reporters can also search for faculty members by their department affiliations.

Media Contacts

For a story or event that involves the professional schools, the Department of Athletics, Stanford Linear Accelerator Center, or various centers and institutes, you may wish to contact these Media Offices at Stanford directly.

Photos, Video and Broadcast

Request photographs of Stanford individuals and events. Consult campus photography policies. Learn about broadcast policies and facilities, and how we can assist members of the media.

Communications policies

University Communications has oversight of policies regarding a variety of media-related topics, including filming and photography on campus and use of the university name, seal, and logos.

News Service Library

The News Service librarians can help journalists, researchers and publishers find archived Stanford Report articles, press releases and photographs.
