Construction of doctors rest facilities and living quarters at the Juba Teaching Hospital


The Ministry of Health has been allocated funds by the Republic of South Sudan toward the cost of Health Sector Development, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this allocation to payments under the Contract for Construction of Doctors’ rest facilities and living quarters.


The Ministry of Health now invites sealed bids from eligible and qualified bidders for the construction of Doctors’ rest facilities and living quarters.


  1. Bidding will be conducted through the International Competitive Bidding procedures as specified in the interim Public Procurement and Disposal Regulation 2006 of the Republic of South Sudan and is open to all eligible bidders as defined in the guidelines.
  2. Interested bidders may obtain further information and inspect the bidding documents from the address below from Thursday 28 July 2011 to Friday 5 August 2011 between 9am and 5pm local time.
  3. Qualification requirements include: (i) Possession of a net liquidity of at least 30% of the value of each contract under consideration; (ii) Experience in two similar contracts; (iii) Being registered or incorporated in the Republic of South Sudan. Additional details are provided in the bidding documents.
  4. A complete set of bidding documents in English may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of SDG 400 or USD 200. The method of payment will be cash or cheque payable to the Ministry of Health. The bidding documents can be collected in person or sent by email after payment of the non-refundable fee above.
  5. Bids in sealed envelopes, clearly marked “Tender for Construction of Doctors’ rest facilities and Living Quarters” must be addressed and delivered to the address below, not later than Friday 5th August 2011 at 3pm local time. Late bids will be rejected. Electronic bidding will not be permitted. Bids will be opened at 3.10pm on the same day at the Ministry’s main conference room in the presence of bidders or their representatives who choose to attend. All bids must be accompanied by a properly signed and stamped Bid-Securing Declaration Form in the format prescribed in the bidding documents.
