Hon. Simon Kun Puoch Chairperson

Chairperson's Profile:

Hon. Simon Kun Puoch is a teacher by profession who held several positions of responsibility in the SPLM and Old Sudan. He graduated from the University of Khartoum in 1976.

Functions:

The Southern Sudan Relief and Rehabilitation Commission performs the following functions and duties:

1. To coordinate relief, repatriation, rehabilitation, resettlement and reintegration;
2. To coordinate reconstruction efforts by GOSS, UN and other agencies;
3. Risk reduction management. 

Structure:

The Commission is comprised of the following administrative units:

1. Chairperson
2. Executive Director
3. Two deputy directors
4. General administration directors
5. States directors and County Secretaries
6. Liaison officers in Lokichogio/Nairobi, Uganda, Khartoum and Ethiopia

Projects and Programs: 

1. Reintegration of returnees
2. Rehabilitation
3. Resettlement programmes for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs)
