USAID and World Bank Launch Business Conference in Colombia

12/01/2011 - Representatives from the U.S. Agency for International Development and the World Bank today launched a two-day business conference in Bogota, Colombia. Entitled Doing Business in Latin America: Sharing Reform Experiences, the conference will allow participants to develop strategies to improve the legal and regulatory environment for businesses.

12/02/2011 - Gender experts have been advocating for sex-disaggregated data and gender sensitive statistics for more than 25 years. The 1995 Beijing Platform for Action called for "reliable gender statistics to inform policies and programs and to assess progress and gaps." While progress has been made, notable gaps remain, especially in the area of women's economic empowerment.
