TEHRAN (FNA)- Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian met with Lebanese President Michel Sleiman in Beirut to discuss regional developments and submit a message from Iran's President Ahmadinejad to Suleiman.
At the meeting, the two sides discussed bilateral ties and cooperation and exchanged views over the latest developments in the region, Syria in particular.
Amir-Abdollahian submitted a written message from President Ahmadinejad to Suleiman, and reiterated Tehran's firm support for independence, territorial integrity and national unity in Lebanon.
The Lebanese president underlined that his country defends Iran's nuclear rights, and added that Lebanon's stance is based on non-interference in the internal affairs of other countries, including Syria.
The Lebanese president emphasized that national dialogue and non-interference of foreign countries in Syria's domestic affairs would serve as the only solution to the Syrian unrest.
