At the meeting, The Iranian minister conveyed a message from Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to Berdimuhamedov.
The two sides further discussed bilateral ties and exchanged views over the latest developments in the region.
Berdimuhamedov and Najjar underlined the two countries' commitment to cooperate in ensuring global peace, security and stability, combating modern threats and challenges.
Najjar said Iran attaches great importance to the development and strengthening of traditionally friendly relations with Turkmenistan.
Berdimuhamedov said that Turkmenistan also attaches great importance to expanding traditionally friendly Turkmen-Iranian cooperation, based on the enormous economic and resource potential of the two countries as well as the historical and cultural unity of the people of Turkmenistan and Iran.
The Turkmen President and the Iranian Interior Minister expressed confidence that relations between the two neighboring countries are built on the principles of sustainability and bonded by strong ties of friendship and brotherhood. They will continue flourishing for the benefit of the Iranian and Turkmen people and for the welfare and progress of the entire region.
