TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian Taekwondo fighter Mohammad Bagheri Motamed won a silver medal in the London Olympics after he lost the men's -68kg final match to his Turkish rival.

Servet Tazegul of Turkey defeated Bagheri Motamed 5-6 at the Excel Center in London on Thursday evening.

Bagheri Motamed beat Brazil's Diogo Silva in the semi-finals 5-5 by superiority after defeating Afghanisan's Rohullah Nikpah 5-4 by sudden death point in quarter-finals.

The 26-year-old Iranian world gold medalist in 2009 opened his Olympic debut with a 7-2 victory over David Boui from Central African Republic earlier in the day.

This is Iran's fourth silver medal in the London 2012 Olympic Games.
