Iran Offers to Produce Joint Documentaries with China

TEHRAN (FNA)- Head of the Iranian Foreign Ministry's Public Diplomacy and Media Center Ramin Mehman-Parast called on Iranian and Chinese artists to start mutual cooperation to produce joint documentaries on the Silk Road.

Mehman-Parast who is in China, heading an Iranian media delegation, raised the offer during a visit to the Shanghai Media Group (SMG) and the Shanghai English language network (ICS).

During the visit, he held talks with Deputy Head of ICS Lee Rong and Executive Director of the English network Sun Vi and briefed them on the activities carried out by the Iranian media an TV networks.

The Silk Road is an extensive interconnected network of trade routes across the Asian continent connecting East, South, and Western Asia with the Mediterranean world, as well as North and Northeast Africa and Europe.

The Silk Road gets its name from the lucrative Chinese silk trade, a major reason for the connection of trade routes into an extensive trans-continental network.

Mehman-Parast, heading a media delegation, arrived in Beijing Monday evening. The visit was made upon official invitation of the Chinese government.

Iran and China enjoy cordial ties despite the western pressures, specially in trade and economic fields.
