Iran to Take Part in Meeting of SCO Culture Ministers

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Seyed Mohammad Hosseini is scheduled to represent Iran in the 9th meeting of the culture ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).



Hosseini will pay a visit to the Chinese capital city of Beijing on June 5 to take part in the event.

The Iranian minister is scheduled to deliver a speech at the meeting.

He will also hold talks on the sidelines of the event with his counterparts.

The 12th SCO summit will be held in Beijing on June 6-7.

The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) is an intergovernmental organization which was founded in 2001 in Shanghai, China, by the Kazakh, Kyrgyz, Russian, Tajik, Uzbek and Chinese heads of state.

SCO member governments include China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, as well as four formally designated observer countries, namely Iran, India, Mongolia and Pakistan.
