Qatar Calls for Exchange of Youths Delegations with Iran
TEHRAN (FNA)- A senior Qatari official underlined his country's enthusiasm for the further expansion of relations with Iran, including exchange of youth delegations within the framework of cultural programs.
Head of the Youths Cultural Centers in Qatar's Culture, Art and Heritage Ministry Abdulrazzaq al-Kuwari told FNA on Saturday that "we welcome the travelling of the Iranian and Qatari youths".
"Unfortunately, such exchange of visits between Qatar and the western countries happen a lot at present, but there is no such a thing between Iran and us" as two Muslim nations.
"Thus we want Iran to invite the Qatari youths to its programs," he added.
Al-Kawari referred to the Qatari government's efforts to prevent the arrogant powers' cultural invasion against its younger population, and said, "We pay special attention to the Islamic identity of the Qatari youths and have always ordered the cultural centers to do their best to prevent non-Islamic programs."
Due to their close relations, Iran and Qatar have always made efforts to expand their cultural ties and cooperation.
Iran's Islamic Guidance and Culture Minister Seyed Mohammad Hosseini in a meeting with his Qatari counterpart late 2011 announced Iran's readiness for setting up a permanent center of cultural products in Qatar.
During the meeting, Qatari Minister of Culture, Arts and Heritage Hamad Bin Abdulaziz Al-Kuwari also said that certainly Iran-Qatar ties, which are based on Islam, enjoy depth and strength.
