Mykonos Reminder, Iran to Produce Documentary on Court Hearings

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iran announced that it plans to produce a documentary film on Mykonos court hearing of Kazzem Darabi, an innocent Iranian national sentenced to life imprisonment, and his pains and troubles after being wrongly convicted by the German court.

"The subject of Haj Kazzem documentary is about the life of Haj Kazzem Darabi, the Iranian national accused in the illegal Mykonos court, who was imprisoned in Germany for 16 years for unfounded allegations," Iranian filmmaker Ehsan Rajabi told FNA on Wednesday.

Elaborating on his motivation for producing the documentary, Rajabi said the Mykonos court that even German experts believed in its politically-tainted atmosphere sentenced Darabi to three times life imprisonment on the basis of the testimonies presented by a number of anti-Iran terrorist Mojahedin-e Khalq Organization (MKO) members.

Darabi was an innocent person who was forced to bear the difficult years of prison for no good and founded reason.

Darabi was jailed for life for the 1992 alleged murder of four Kurdish dissidents in a Greek restaurant in Berlin called "Mykonos", but German officials could never prove his complicity in the crime.

Germany in 2007 released Darabi after failing to find any convincing evidence against him.
