Iran's Sepahan Qualify for Next Stage of Asian Football Championship
TEHRAN (FNA)- Isfahan's Sepahan Football Club managed to qualify for the next stage of the Asian Clubs Championship League despite a 1-1 draw with Saudi Arabia's Al-Helal.
At the sensitive game of the Group A at the sports stadium of Isfahan's Foulad Shahr the students of Head Coach Amir Qalehno'ie sufficed in gaining just one point from this hope game to rise from this phase of the games to the next as the top team of their group.
Al-Helal's Abbdullah al-Dosari scored the game's first goal at 46th minute of the Asian clubs match, which was responded by Sepahan's Moharram Navidkia's 54th minute goal, nine minutes later.
During the fist ten minutes of the game both teams were playing cautiously and resorting to the tough defense mentality, but the yellow clad Sepahan players with their fast pace took the lead at the field very soon and organized vast offenses against the Al-Helal goal keeper Hassan al-Owtibi's gate.
During the 1st half Sepahan's Omid Ebrahimi, Ehsan Haajsafi, Mahdi Karimian, Ebrahim Toreh, and Reza Enayati had good opportunities for scoring goals, but they lost their chances due to low precision in shooting their last shots into the competent's gate, which was why the two teams left the field with a nil-nil ties result.
