Anoushiravani Win's Olympic Silver in Weightlifting

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iran's Sajjad Anoushiravani Hamlabad won a silver medal in the Olympic weightlifting competitions in the men +105kg category in ExCel Tuesday night, standing behind his countryman Behdad Salimi who was crowned as the world's most power man once again.



The 28-year-old hauled snatch of 204kg and a clean and jerk of 245kg to edge out his rivals with 449kg at the Weightlifting competitions at ExCeL.

Iran's world champion Behdad Salimi Kordasiabi the gold medal after he hauled a snatch of 208kg and a clean and jerk of 247kg to set up a dramatic victory with 455kg.

Russia's Ruslan Albegov took bronze with a total of 448kg.

Iran's weightlifters Navab Nasirshelal and Kianoosh Rostami had also earlier earned silver and bronze medals in the London Games, respectively.
