TEHRAN (FNA)- Ali Daei, Iran's former national soccer manager and former Iran and Bayern Munich striker, was injured in a heavy car accident while returning to Tehran from Iran's Central city of Isfahan.
The crash happened on Saturday evening when Daei, who is now the manager of Rah Ahan football club, was in his personal car with his brother and Rah Ahan's coach Miach.
He was being kept in hospital for treatment to a head injury, but the injury was not life-threatening, the report said.
He is in a stable condition after he went under surgery for his head injury on Sunday morning, doctors in a hospital in Kashan said.
The cause of the accident was violating speed limit, police said.
Daei played in Germany from 1997 to 2002 for Armimnia Bielefeld, Bayern Munich and Hertha Berlin. He captained the Iran national team, scoring 109 goals in 149 international games.
