Iran to Host Int'l Men, Women Kung-Fu Competitions

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iran's Southern city of Shiraz will host international Kung-Fu competitions both for men and women.

The competitions due to be held during the second half of the current Iranian year (October 2011 - March 2012) will be the first of its kind in Iran.

The event will be held in three weight categories both for men and women.

"The exact date for the competitions is yet to be specified but it is likely to be held in Mehr (September 23- October 22)," deputy head of Iran's Kung-Fu Federation for Women's Affairs said on Tuesday.

Iran's female Kung-Fu athletes ranked first in the world clubs competitions held in Baku last year with 5 gold and 4 silver medals.
