Addressing the inauguration ceremony of the third national congress on air and aerospace capabilities here in Tehran today, Deputy Defense Minister and Head of Iran's Aerospace Organization General Mehdi Farahi said that "12 golden achievements" of the aerospace industry will be unveiled this Iranian year (ending on March 20, 2013), but meantime pointed out that a part of these achievements have already been publicized.
Farahi lauded the country's growing trend in aerospace fields, and said that the government has rendered great support for the Iranian aerospace industry.
Earlier this year, Iran's Defense Minister Ahmad Vahidi said rapid growth and expansion of aerospace technology tops the agenda of his ministry this Iranian year (March 2012 - March 2013).
"This year, the Defense Ministry's first priority will be acquiring new products and technologies and its aerospace program will be expanded," Vahidi said at the time.
On September 30, Managing-Director of the Iranian Aviation Industries Organization (IAIO) Manouchehr Manteqi announced that the country plans to unveil new home-made turbofan engines in an exhibition of aerospace industry products.
"A number of new products, including turbofan engines, will be unveiled in the exhibition in the future," Manteqi said in a press conference at the time.
