Iran Ready to Reconstruct Lebanon's Damaged Historical Monuments
TEHRAN (FNA)- Director of Iran's Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts Organization (CHTHO) Hassan Moussavi announced Tehran's preparedness to reconstruct Lebanon's historical monuments damaged during the 2006 Israeli war.
"We announce our readiness to reconstruct the historical monuments of Lebanon damaged during the wars," Moussavi said in a meeting with Lebanese Foreign Minister Adnan Mansour in Tehran on Wednesday.
He referred to the Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) inked by Iran and Lebanon in the cultural, handicrafts and tourism fields, and stressed Tehran's eagerness to sign more new MoUs with Beirut in these areas.
Iran and Lebanon enjoy cordial relations and have further expanded these ties in recent years.
The two sides have exchanged several delegations of high-ranking officials in the last three years.
Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad paid a landmark visit to Beirut in October 2010. The two countries signed a cluster of economic agreements during President Ahmadinejad's visit.
