Iranian Envoy Voices Optimism about Egyptian Cinema Industry
TEHRAN (FNA)- The cinema industry of post-revolution Egypt can experience the same success and progress that Iran made after the victory of the 1979 Islamic Revolution, Head of Iran's Interests Section in Cairo Mojtaba Amani said.
"As Iran managed to change and reshape its cinema after the Islamic Revolution and succeeded in a new format so much that it could even win the Oscar award, Egypt can do the same and gain success," Amani said, addressing the introductory ceremony of the 35th Cairo International Film Festival on Tuesday.
Several movie stars of Egypt's cinema and political figures were attending the ceremony.
The Iranian official further mentioned that Tehran would take part in the Cairo film festival this year.
The 35th Cairo International Film Festival will be held from 27 November to December 6.
Iran will part in the Cairo film festival with two films, 'Flying Kites' directed by Ali Qavi-Tan and 'The Private Life of Mr. and Mrs. M' by Rouhallah Hejazi.
The Iranian movie, 'A Separation', produced by Iranian director Asghar Farhadi won the Oscar Award for the best foreign language film in February 2012.
