Iran, Lebanon to Set up Technical Committee to Enhance Tourism Cooperation
TEHRAN (FNA)- Iran and Lebanon have agreed to set up their first technical committee to boost the two countries' cooperation in cultural and tourism fields, an Iranian official announced on Sunday.
"The first Iran-Lebanon committee for technical cooperation in cultural heritage, handicrafts and tourism affairs will be set up in Beirut on December 10," Director-General of Iran's Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization for International Affairs Mohammad Parvin told FNA.
He said that the committee will be formed to implement the contents of the three Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) signed between Iran's Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization and the Lebanese Tourism Ministry.
Iran and Lebanon enjoy cordial relations and have further expanded these ties in recent years.
The two sides have exchanged several delegations of high-ranking officials in the last three years.
Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad paid a landmark visit to Beirut in October 2010. The two countries signed a cluster of economic agreements during President Ahmadinejad's visit.
