Lebanese Culture Minster to Travel to Tehran in Coming Months

TEHRAN (FNA)- Lebanese Culture Minister Gaby Layyoun will travel to Tehran in next three months upon an invitation by Iranian Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Seyed Mohammad Hosseini, Iranian Ambassador to Beirut Qazanfar Roknabadi said.

In a meeting with Layyoun in Beirut on Tuesday, Roknabadi discussed the latest status of the cultural relations between the two countries and political developments in the region.

Further in the meeting, the Iranian envoy submitted a message from the Iranian culture minister to Layyoun to invite him to pay a visit to Iran.

Layyoun welcomed the invitation, and said that he would be ready to take the trip to Tehran in the next three months.

The Lebanese minister said Iran has a rich culture, and hoped for boosting cultural cooperation between the two countries.

Layyoun lauded Iran for its recent joint cultural activities with Lebanon such as movie production, having art programs and holding Iran culture week in Lebanon.

Iran and Lebanon enjoy cordial relations and have further expanded these ties in recent years.

The two sides have exchanged several delegations of high-ranking officials in the last two years.

Iranian and Lebanese officials have recently doubled efforts to further expand the bilateral relations and mutual cooperation between the two nations.

The two countries signed a cluster of economic agreements during Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's landmark visit to Beirut in October 2010.
