Issue 7 :
From the 5th to 8th May, 2012, in Kassala, active contributors to the fight against malaria in Sudan, got together to celebrate the World Malaria Day. The main focus of the event was on strengthening partnerships as well as establishing further political commitment toward malaria control in order to follow this year’s malaria theme to “Sustain gains, Save lives: Invest in Malaria”....

This year World TB was celebrated in Gedaref State with a parade led by the Police Brass Band in their gleaming white uniforms. Issue 5 :
More than 1.2 million bed nets were given to communities susceptible to Malaria in Sudan in the third quarter of 2010. The bed nets were distributed in the many regions of Sudan by UNICEF and UNHCR. In October and November 2010 a total of 678,997 bed nets were distributed by UNDP/Global Fund sub recipients (SRs) to vulnerable groups....

Since 2002, the Sudanese TB Patient Association has been playing an instrumental role in the fight against TB in Sudan. Having TB patients as members of the association has immensely encouraged TB patients all over Sudan to approach the association despite huge stigma....

The polling days for Sudan’s first multiparty election in 25 years took place 11 –13 April 2010 with a two day extension until 15 April 2010. The counting of ballots began at all polling stations the morning of 15 April 2010 and lasted for several days. NEC reports that 65% of registered voters took part in polling....

On 10 April 2010, the eve of Sudan’s elections mandated by the 2005 Comprehensive Peace Agreement, the National Elections Commission (NEC) held a press conference in Friendship Hall in Khartoum to de-scribe their comprehensive efforts in planning polling activities....
