Tbilisi to Host Iran-Georgia Economic, Industrial Cooperation Conference

TEHRAN (FNA)- The first conference and exhibition of Iran-Georgia economic and industrial cooperation is scheduled to be held in Georgia's capital early in July.

Iran's chamber of cooperative announced that the conference will be held in Tbilisi in Tir 10-11 (July 1-2).

The conference will be attended by over 100 officials, heads of industrial unions, managers and directors of financial institutions and banks, project masters, major manufactures and major customers of technical and engineering services from Iran and Georgia.

The chamber said that the conference will be a good change for introducing Iranian products and services to the Georgian side.

Iran and Georgia have in recent years accelerated their efforts to expand bilateral and regional cooperation in all the various fields.

Last month, Iranian and Georgian officials reviewed the latest developments in the relations between the two countries.

Officials of the two countries signed an agreement during a meeting in Kutaisi - the second largest city in Georgia - to further bolster mutual cooperation in free trade zones.

According to the agreement, free zones in Iran and Georgia's Kutaisi will try to boost bilateral economic ties, head of Aras Free Trade and Industrial Zone Organization Sadeq Najafi said.
