The 4th Beijing International Traditional Music Festival inaugurated on October 7 by performing Iran's traditional music in addition to other ethnical musical pieces in its opening concert.
Musicians from China, Egypt, India, Bangladesh, Peru, Greece and Bulgaria were other performers who rendered their programs at the opening concert held at the China Conservatory of Music Hall.
A number of China's cultural officials, ambassadors to China and Iran's cultural attaché along with some Iranian residents attended the inauguration event.
Organized by the China Conservatory of Music, the festival is to present concerts, seminars, and an awards ceremony.
The event presents various aspects of the preservation and development of traditional music from China and the world.
The 4th Beijing Traditional Music Festival is slated to run until October 25.
