6 Killed, 45 Injured in Suicide Attack at Police Chief House in Quetta, Pakistan

TEHRAN (FNA)- At least six people were killed and 45 got injured in a suicide car attack on Balochistan province's police chief house in Pakistan's Southwest city of Quetta.

Inspector General (IG) Balochistan Mushtaq Sukhera remained safe in the attack, reported local media Dawn. However, four policemen deployed outside his house were killed and 12 other policemen got injured in the blast.

According to the local media, the attack happened late Sunday night when a suicide bomber rammed his explosive-laden vehicle into the house of Mushtaq Sukhera, razing part of the house to ground.

Sukhera was appointed as IG Balochistan in February following two massive sectarian attacks in the city, which killed and wounded hundreds of people.

The injured people have been shifted to a military hospital in Quetta. Hospital sources said some of the injured were in critical condition and the death toll may further rise.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet.

Both Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari and care-taker Prime Minister Mir Hazar Khan Khoso condemned the attack and directed hospital administration to provide best medical facility to the blast victims.

Prior to the attack, several rockets were reportedly fired in different areas of the city, leaving several people injured.
