Iranian, Lebanese Businessmen Hold Forum in Tripoli

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian and Lebanese businessmen held a forum in Tripoli, Lebanon, to become more familiar with the two countries' commercial and trade potentials.

Participants in Iran's second exclusive exhibition in Lebanon took part in the forum at the invitation of Head of Tripoli's Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture Tofiq Dabousi on Sunday.

"We want the best brotherly and friendly relations between Iran and Lebanon, specially in the economic field," Dabousi said, addressing the audience at the inauguration ceremony of the forum.

He also called for providing the ground for export of Lebanese agricultural products, including olive oil, citrus, banana and apple, to Iran and import of Iran-made industrial products, including ceramic, electrical commodities, carpet, etc, to Lebanon.

Iran and Lebanon enjoy cordial relations and have further expanded these ties in recent years.

The two sides have exchanged several delegations of high-ranking officials in the last three years.

Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad paid a landmark visit to Beirut in October 2010. The two countries signed a cluster of economic agreements during President Ahmadinejad's visit.
