Iran Holding Carpet Exhibit in Lebanon

TEHRAN (FNA)- Beirut is currently hosting the Third International Iran Hand-Woven Carpet Exhibition which was inaugurated in a ceremony on Tuesday.

The ceremony was attended by the Lebanese Minister of Economy Mohammad al-Safadi and Iran's Ambassador to Beirut.

Addressing the ceremony, al-Safadi said that arrangement of specialized exhibits in Beirut helps promote knowledge of the Lebanese people about Iranian products.

Referring to President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's visit to Lebanon and Prime Minister Saad Hariri's Iran visit, he hoped that bilateral economic and commercial ties will further improve.

Iran's Ambassador to Beirut, Ghazanfar Roknabadi, said that the two countries have longstanding economic and commercial relations and hoped that the ongoing event will have positive impact to augment the Iranian exports to Lebanon.

He said that he hoped that the first Tehran-Beirut joint economic commission would convene soon.

The Third International Carpet Exhibition is underway in Beirut for the third consecutive years.

Some 20 Iranian companies are participating at the event.

The hand-woven carpet is the main item of Iran's exports to Lebanon.
