Iranian Film Wins Golden Bear at Berlin Int'l Fest

TEHRAN (FNA)- The 61st edition of the Berlin International Film Festival awarded an Iranian film named 'Nader and Simin, A Separation' by Asqar Farhadi.

Farhadi won the Berlin Film Festival's (Berlinale) coveted Golden Bear for best motion picture on Saturday.

The movie 'Jodaeeye Nader Az Simin' (Nader and Simin, A Separation) was among 16 films vying for the top prize at the 61st Berlinale.

This is the first time that an Iranian movie has won a Gold Bear at the Berlinale.

In 2009, Farhadi's film 'About Elly' won the Silver Bear of the Berlin film fest.

Meanwhile, the ensemble cast of the family drama Nader and Simin took both the best actor and best actress Silver Bears.

Iranian films have been very well received at the Berlin Film Festival in recent years because of their artistic qualities, winning numerous awards.
