Iranian Diplomat Calls for Further Development of Cultural Ties with Afghanistan

TEHRAN (FNA)- A senior Iranian diplomat underlined the necessity for the further expansion of cultural relations between Tehran and Kabul so that the Iranian and Afghan people will become more acquainted with each other.

Iran's Press Attaché in Afghanistan Mohammad Dehqani made the remarks on Saturday, saying that the two Persian-speaking countries with numerous commonalities have not been introduced to each other properly.

He added that the media have not played their role properly, given the significance of the two countries' ties in political, economic and educational fields.

Although bilateral ties have expanded in recent years and the volume of commercial exchanges has increased, such positive developments were not revealed to the nations of the two countries, he told the Islamic republic news agency.

Iran and Afghanistan enjoy expanding ties and cooperation and observers believe that the good achievements gained in area of their mutual cooperation should be deemed as a result of the efforts made by the two countries' leaders.
