The McMurtry Building for Art & Art History will include a number of dynamic exhibition spaces and a 1000 sq. ft gallery as the heart of the art practice program.
These exhibition spaces will function as a dynamic teaching and learning resource for faculty, students and guest artists where best practices for exhibition and curatorial development, experimentation, and innovation take place. In addition to various other selected exhibitions, the White Box Gallery on the ground floor of the McMurtry building will be the location for:
A lower level gallery will be dedicated to student curated exhibitions and two crit/installation rooms will allow for dynamic interactive installations to pop-up throughout the academic year in conjunction with the diverse art practice courses offered. Stretching from the main outdoor entryway to the center of the building and adjacent to the lobby, an expansive glass vitrine will also showcase student and faculty works and function as a welcoming entryway for all who pass through.
The new McMurtry Building will be located at 355 Roth Way, adjacent to the Cantor Arts Center.
