2007 Classical historian Richard Saller, provost of the University of Chicago, is appointed the Vernon R. and Lysbeth Warren Anderson Dean. In 2010, he is named the inaugural Kleinheinz Family Professor of European Studies.
2001 Biologist Sharon Long is appointed as the inaugural Vernon R. and Lysbeth Warren Anderson Dean of the School of Humanities and Sciences.
1998 Professor of Applied Physics Malcolm Beasley is named dean.
