With funding from the Provost, SUL Facilities is working to create a long-overdue break room for Green Library staff. The new break room will be in 245E, on the 2nd floor of the Green East Library, and is slated to open in mid-February.
The room features a large window view that overlooks the Shumway fountain, and has a 350 sq ft seating area that will be furnished with both soft seating and café chairs and tables. The room is also being built out to include a 45 sq ft kitchenette with an inlayed sink, a refrigerator/freezer, and two microwaves, as well as a filtered water dispenser and a coffee maker.
The room will be for staff only, with LENEL card readers for access control. Please note that when the 245E break room opens, 231E will be closed to most staff, as it will be returned to use as office/storage space.
