Gideon Kunda

Gideon Kunda PhotoGideon Kunda is an internationally recognized expert in the area of organizational culture. He received his PhD in management and organization studies from the Sloan School of Management at MIT in 1987, and he currently teaches in the department of Labor Studies at Tel Aviv University. His book Engineering Culture: Control and Commitment in a High-Tech Corporation (revised edition 2006) received the Outstanding Book Award from the American Sociological Association's Culture Section in 1994. His book (with Stephen Barley), Gurus, Hired Guns, and Warm Bodies: Itinerant Experts in a Knowledge Economy (2004), examines the social organization of temporary work among engineers in Silicon Valley. Kunda has lectured widely on culture, culture management, and culture change in the United States, Europe, and Israel.
