The Office of the Dean of the School of Humanities and Sciences supports Stanford University’s mission to become the most influential university of the 21st century.
Divided into Academic, Management, and External Relations divisions, the office works with faculty, students, and university administrators to support relationships throughout Stanford and beyond.
The dean’s office oversees the more than 50 departments and programs that make up Stanford’s largest school. These constitute the core of the university’s academic enterprise, beyond its professional schools.
Staff members work with the dean to allocate resources, support new program initiatives, oversee appointments and promotions, and raise funds for the school.
