Purpose of the Site
The Wellness Network at Stanford is a comprehensive online resource directory designed to connect students and the Stanford community to immediate help, health and wellness, and communities of support at Stanford.
The Wellness Network was created with guidance from students, faculty, staff and others. The site is managed by the Office of the Vice Provost for Student Affairs, but the extensive support network and resources it highlights represents our entire community, including Student Affairs, the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education, the Vice Provost for Graduate Education and numerous campus and community partners.
Mental Health and Well-Being Advisory Board
Stanford has a broad and long-term commitment to understanding, supporting and encouraging student mental health and well-being.
In 2006, the Student Mental Health and Well-Being Task Force was created to address the prevalence and complexity of student mental health. This diverse body of staff, faculty and students released the Mental Health and Well-Being Task Force Report, which made recommendations to promote student mental health and well-being on campus. The Mental Health and Well-Being Oversight Committee prioritized and oversaw the implementation of the task force’s recommendations, until responsibility of reviewing and strengthening the university’s mental health and well-being of students was passed on in 2012 to the Mental Health and Well-Being Advisory Board. Its work and recommendations are reported to Greg Boardman, vice provost for student affairs.
The Wellness Network is a proud reflection of Stanford’s legacy of mental health and well-being initiatives.
