I am interested in the application of ab initio computational methods and theoretical approaches in synergy with experiments with the goal of accelerating materials discovery and design. Especially important are the properties of advanced materials for the latest generation of green energy devices. Electrochemical energy storage and conversion is at the center of these technologies. The ab initio theoretical approach provides detailed understanding of these systems and in turn allows for atomistic tuning of the properties of interest. More recently, high-throughput screening based approaches have emerged as efficient tools for discovery of new materials.
