Welcome to Stanford University, and welcome to Student Affairs!
Student Affairs comprises more than 20 offices and centers spread across campus. We are a diverse division encompassing everything from the student residences and student health center to the community, public service, and international student centers.
We also provide many student services, from paying tuition and ordering transcripts to career education and mentoring. I encourage you to view the full list of Student Affairs offices and centers.
In Student Affairs, we are committed to educating the whole student through co-curricular programming. Through the division's four key messages in Our Story, you can learn about the work we do and the value we bring to the Stanford student experience.
Regards,
Greg Boardman
Vice Provost for Student Affairs
Student Affairs leads transformative learning experiences for Stanford students by enhancing academic learning through dialogue, connection and innovation beyond the classroom. Students are engaged intellectually and personally. Rigor, imagination, creativity and exploration are fostered in an environment where students can experiment in order to advance their understanding of themselves and the world.
Student Affairs furthers the university’s mission of engaging students who are from diverse backgrounds with diverse experiences; cultivating ethical leaders, influencers and critical thinkers; and promoting responsible and engaged citizens, who work to make a positive impact in their community, wherever they reside. Through sustained reflection about the complexity of the world and their role in it, students increase their cultural competency and empathy for others.
Student Affairs realizes that student success is measured by personal achievement as well as the advancement of the common good. By promoting identity and character development in students, we help foster meaningful connections and relationships and nurture a vibrant community with shared values, which includes responsibility for and accountability to others. Through participation in Stanford’s community centers, student organizations, leadership and service programs, and more, students experience the interconnection and interdependence of the local community to the global.
Student Affairs staff value the potential of each individual, and we are committed to the success and well-being of all Stanford students. We help students tackle some of life’s most challenging moments through our expertise and dedication. As exceptional problem solvers, we work with students to build healthy habits to increase their resilience, strength and adaptability.
